The school system recently made a significant investment in expanding technical, engineering, and vocational training by constructing a new 300,000-square-foot infrastructure to combine its program of career and technical education with its current Academy of Science and Academy of Technology and Engineering programs, which are now held at two separate high schools. Power Solutions is putting in two three-phase, 4,000-amp electrical service switchboards, 277/480-volt distribution throughout the school, lighting and lighting controls, lightning protection, life safety, and a 450-kW life safety backup generator to keep lifts and emergency lighting operational during blackouts.
